The Clinic

The last assignment for the first year was to design a cosmetic clinic in a small shop in Rotterdam. I chose to make a design for a hair removal clinic with sand as the base for the colors, materials and concept. Sand is an incredibly versatile material with cleansing properties. It scrubs off dead skin, dirt and gets the blood flowing all in one. I wanted to make a welcoming and warm design so you wouldn't want to run away as soon as you entered the building. Hair removal is very intimate and personal, and the last thing you want to do is make your client uncomfortable with clinical coldness. This minimalistic design is the result.
